New Women’s Bible Study launches

thGBEHZ5D5Ladies, join us for a new 9-week Bible study led by Cheryl Sletten. We will be studying Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin.

We will discover that our familiarity with the words of the Sermon on the Mount may have  bred carelessness. Over the years, piecemeal exposure may have reduced Jesus’ first and longest recorded message to a handful of self-help sound-bites on how to pray, handle money, or deal with anger. We will see that instead, Jesus’ sermon unfurls as a sweeping declaration of the character, influence, and actions of a citizen of the kingdom of heaven, articulated with perfect intent by the King himself.

The study will meet in the Media Room.

The study will be held at two different times:

  • Thursdays, beginning April 21, from 9-11 a.m.
  • Saturdays, beginning April 23, from 8:15-10:15 a.m.

Email Cheryl Sletten at to register or sign-up.

Welcome Interim Pastor Sletten

Pastor Dave Sletten is joining Cornerstone Community Church as Interim Pastor.

 Dave and Cheryl

Pastor Dave joined Interim Pastor Ministries in 2009 after retiring following 30 years of ministry at Valley Evangelical Free Church in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota. He chose to serve with IPM because of its vital ministry to the church in America and to churches in transition, it’s solid reputation, and the ongoing training and equipping of its pastors.

Pastor Dave has been married to his wife Cheryl for 20 years. Pastor Dave and Cheryl had both been previously widowed, and together they have 9 children, 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Also deserving honorable mention as a family member is their 4-year-old black lab, Gracie. Six of their nine children and their families reside in the Minneapolis area, one in Park City, UT, one in Naples, FL and one in Seattle, WA.

Pastor Dave brings his passion to “brag about Jesus” and a sincere love for people to Cornerstone Community Church. It is his goal and prayer that this time of transition will be used for the church to grow in love for Jesus and others, to share that love, to invite others to know Christ, and to practice the habit of sharing God-sightings with one another.
